Central Bureau of Statistics and Information Technology of the Ministry of Planning inflation report for the month of February, 2010, prepared on the basis of field data collection "on the prices of goods and services components of the consumer basket for a selected sample of outlets in Baghdad and the provinces have adopted the base year of 2007, and results showed that the inflation index In February / 2010 from the level recorded in January, 2010 as reflected in the index of consumer prices (0.2%), which was the result of higher indices of some sections of the following commodity (food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcoholic beverages and tobacco, equipment and home appliances and maintenance, health, transport, communication, restaurants, miscellaneous goods and services) at rates of (0.9%, 1.5%, 0.7%, 0.5%, 0.1%, 1.9%, 0.7%, 0.1%) respectively, and the sections of merchandise (clothing, shoes , housing, recreation and culture, education) has recorded a price decline during the month of February 2010 compared to the previous month rates per (0.6%; 0.5% 0.2% 0.5%) respectively. The index of annual inflation in the month of February 2010 compared with February, 2009 by (2.5%) due to the high indices of the sections following commodity (food and non-alcoholic beverages, clothing and footwear, housing, health, education, restaurants, miscellaneous goods and services) at rates of (1.4%, 1.1%, 5.7%, 3.8 %, 4.2%, 3.1%, 6.7%), respectively, Sections commodity (alcohol, tobacco, equipment and household equipment and maintenance, transportation, communication, entertainment and culture) were recorded price decline rates of (0.1%, 0.1%, 1.1%, 1.4%, 2.0%), respectively. The inflation rate basis (123.3%), a decline (0.2%) for the previous month and increased by (3.4%) for the month of February of last year.
